Hyperlink Navigation
After copying the block link, you can directly paste it onto a keyword or a section of text. By clicking on this text, you’ll be redirected to the original block. This is the most straightforward method to build hyperlinks within the note system.
A unique use case is for long articles. You can create a “Back to Top” text at the end of the document and paste the block link of the article’s beginning onto this text. This way, readers (or yourself) can quickly return to the top of the page by clicking this “button”.
Quick Sharing
When your note page is set to public sharing, you can directly copy a paragraph or title’s block link and share it with others. This way, when someone opens the link, they’ll be directed straight to the section you shared, saving them the effort of scrolling and searching.
Specific Paragraph Reference
If you copy a text paragraph’s block link, you can paste this link anywhere in Notion and choose “Mention Block”. This allows you to reference the original text at any location on any page (including inline). Clicking on this referenced text will also redirect you back to the original paragraph.
Creating Synced Blocks
By copying a block link and pasting it into any blank paragraph, then selecting “Paste and Sync”, you can create a synced block. Any changes made to the original block will reflect on this synced block and vice versa.
In simple terms: Edit once, sync everywhere.
If you want to view the original location of a synced block or cancel its sync status, just click within any synced block. A menu will pop up, offering intuitive options.
The features of synced blocks are involved in many advanced note-taking uses. Below, I’ll list a few practical application examples, hoping to inspire you.
